Shadow of the Road | Tactical RPG | Playtest Request Available Now for PC

Shadow of the Road, developed by Another Angle Games and published by Owlcat Games, is entering an "Open Alpha" that will start on March 25th. They call it an open alpha but require you to signup on Steam with the playtest request button. That doesn't make much sense to me. Open Betas usually don't require a signup. I don't think it's a big deal. That's just odd to me. I encountered something similar recently with the Broken Sword: Death Sun beta as well.

Shadow of the Road is described as "a story-driven, turn-based RPG where feudal Japan meets magic and machine. Assemble your team from a diverse set of characters and test your skills against yōkai and steampunk contraptions. Carve your own path through an immersive story and change the fate of the Empire."

I don't have a lot to say on this one. I haven't been super deep into turn-based strategy games for many years. I do play a little bit every once in awhile but not hardcore for now. I do enjoy seeing the new games come out, though, and Shadow of the Road looks really cool to me. I had recently gotten quite a bit into Midnight Suns which I think is pretty good so far as I play through it very casually.

Let me know what you think if you try the alpha out. Thanks for reading. Game on.
