Warhammer 40K: Speed Freeks just received a large update during its Early Access on March 5th. I haven't played the game since it first came out. I think about it pretty often and do intend to try it again some time, I just haven't yet. I love the concept and have played similar games like World of Tanks and Crossout. One of the big reasons I don't play games like that anymore is they're just so slow paced and too campfesty for me.
The main reason I didn't continue playing Warhammer 40K: Speed Freeks is because I felt it had the same problems as the other games I mentioned, too slow paced. It's possible that might be different by now as many updates have happened since I last played. I like it enough to keep up to date with it and see the news they share to see how the game is progressing in development.
The newest update "brings back" Alternative Weapons. I'm not familiar with this feature which is why I quoted that. These alternative weapons are only available during special weekends as Caged Element Inc. gathers feedback from players on the feel of them.
Drifting has been added for the first time to non-tank vehicles for public testing. There are also new weather effects, new background activities for visual immersion, new boost pads in Rally maps, user interface updates and much more.
I'm sharing this because I do have interest in the game but I just haven't been playing it. The update is pretty large and if interested, you should check out the official announcement.
Warhammer 40K Speed Freeks is free-to-play so there's no reason for you not to give it a try. Always remember that it is in Early Access and it will receive many updates over time that can drastically change it for the better. Check it out. Thanks for reading. Game on.
