Some indie games to check out

I browse games a lot just for the heck of it. I also notice when my friends add games to their wishlist on Steam cuz I actively scroll the Activity feed. Which reminds me, PlayStation sucks balls for removing it's social features, and Xbox always sucked so whatever. Anyways, I often come across cool looking and fun games that I don't write about or record a video about cuz I'd literally just be saying, "Here's the link, have a look." So, I post on Steam, my Discord, and now even Linkedin since I deleted Facebook and got banned from Twitter. I've never really bothered with the others. So, yeah, I don't really do "social media" anymore. -lol-

Here are several cool looking games that I either Follow and/or Wishlist to keep an eye on as well as have already played. I mainly play on PC now so all of my links will usually end up going to Steam. Most games are multiplatform, though, so just look em up to see if it's on your preferred platform.

Go Mecha Ball, developed by Whale Peak Games and published by Super Rare Originals (love the name), came out in January of 2024. I saw a buddy whom I respect their opinion of games on wishlist it so I wanted to see what he was wanting to play. It's a pinball-style twin-stick shooter where you transform from a ball into a robot and vice-versa. I dig the visuals and the gameplay looks super fun. It's too bad there's no demo. It's currently on sale for $9.99 until March 20th while the normal price is $19.99.

DC's Justice League: Cosmic Chaos, developed by PHL Collective and published by Outright Games Ltd., released in March of 2023. I saw a friend buy it so had a look. It looks to be a super cute twin-stick brawler with some shooting mechanics as well. It is playable with two players offline in couch co-op and looks to be intended for a pre-teen audience. There are three total playable characters: Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman, and it looks like you can swap between them on the fly. It's currently on sale until March 20th for $11.99 with the normal price of $39.99.

Sodaman, developed by Tape Corps and published by GameDev.ist (yeah, that's not a typo), is a twin-stick survivor game. I've played a ton of these over the past year or so. They're fun little games. This one offers full manual control for aiming and firing but you can enable the typical auto-attack and auto-firing that has been a part of this genre for awhile. The auto-attack/aim is my preference for this specific style of game. I also enjoy regular twin-stick shooters like Dreadhunter.

I recently picked Sodaman up cuz the trailer had sold me on it. This one is absolutely hilarious. I love the story but I'm also a big fan of cola in general, which I now refer to as "sugar water." I fell in love with the game just a few minutes in cuz the story had me laughing a lot and I really love the whole theme of it. There is a pretty cool upgrade system too where you can get random blueprints to upgrade your different types of cybernetic implants. I don't want to go into full details on it in this post. I like it. It is currently in Early Access with a normal price of $4.99.

Towers of Aghasba, developed and self-published by Dreamlit Inc., looks to be a survival-craft like game to me. It also looks action-rpg but it looks to be more of that survival-craft to me than something like Skyrim or Kingdoms of Amalur for example. I have been kind of wanting to try and get more into these but I know that the last thing I want to do is crafting as the focus. I really enjoyed New World's crafting experience because it wasn't forced. But that's just my preference, it has nothing to do with something being "good" or "bad."

Towers of Aghasba received a new trailer to show off the most recent game update today. The world they've created looks absolutely incredible. The game is in Early Access and it is currently on sale for $19.99 until March 20th with the normal price of $29.99. Nightingale also looks to be really cool in the genre.

Now, Stumble Guys, developed and self-published by Scopely, is a free-to-play platformer battle-royale similar to Fall Guys, intended for gamers of all ages. I even looked up to see if it was the same developer because they're so similar. It is not the same dev. I first saw and played this game yesterday and had a blast. I actually have a Draft I started about the game because I enjoyed it so much I wanted to share it. However, that ones gonna end up being a mini-review or even full review so it'll still be awhile before I actually finish it if I do. I still want to share the game so that's why it's here.

I instantly found a preference for Stumble Guys over Fall Guys because I really liked the environment design and I'm not sure exactly what else. I just liked it more. Also, I have no idea what all has changed in Fall Guys in the past however many years I have not actively been playing it. Just go check this game out. It's free and fun. Hopefully I'll get a review out but I don't know if I will for sure.

Lastly, a game I haven't played in awhile but blew my mind with its stunningly gorgeous artistic style, RKGK / Ragukaki. Weird name, I know. Makes it hard for me to remember it too, which sucks! This was developed and self-published by Wabisabi Games. This is a platformer game similar to Jet Set Radio and the like, which I never played too much of. I don't have a lot to say, just check this game out. There is a demo. It's currently on sale until March 20th for $13.99 with a normal price of $19.99.

There are tons of games I share all the time on my discord and steam activity. These are just a few of the recent ones I felt like posting about here. You can find me on Steam here if you'd like or join me on Discord. If you're new here, I'm also on Youtube. Thanks for reading. Game on.
